Converted Liche High Priest on Horse

Photobucket

Most of you probably remember the "orphan bits" Liche Priest from a few weeks ago.  Every so often, I have put a spot of paint on it here and there.

Now he has all his colors, and is the first part of that new large horseman bunker I have been constructing.

The base is part of my experiment with foam core.  It has thus far proven to be a good result, providing a nearly seamless flat surface with very little effort.

It's important to have that effect, since painting the continuous designs across several ranks of figures is  lot easier when the edges all meet up!

In case you never saw the WIP image of the original conversion, here are a few pics.

I will start doing more images of the unit and movement tray that goes with this character!

Kingdom Death Flower Knight

Photobucket

This is something a bit different. :-)

It is from Kingdom Death, which is an interesting large scale miniature line.  The detail is nicely sculpted, and the cast is also of a high quality.  There are other figures in the line that would have been fun to paint as well, as they would offer interesting painting possibilities.

There were a lots of little pieces here, and it was not always easy to deal with them.

I chose to go with some classic colors on this piece.  At first, I thought about going with lots of reds and black, but I chose to go with a greater variety of colors within it.

I had some fun with the base, doing a bit of freehand.

Remember the Ghost Knights?

Photobucket

It's been a long time since the ghost knights made their debut on the blog.  Here's a familiar that went along with that group...

For those who did not see them, here are a few images:
